U-VISA – PROTECTION FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME

Eligibility Criteria:

You may qualify for a U-Visa if:

• You were a victim of a qualifying crime that occurred in the U.S. or violated U.S. laws.
• You have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse as a result of the crime.
• You have helped, are helping, or are willing to help law enforcement in investigating or prosecuting the crime.
• A certification (Form I-918, Supplement B) is provided by law enforcement, confirming your cooperation.
• You are admissible to the U.S. (or eligible for a waiver through Form I-192).

Qualifying Crimes Include:

• Domestic violence
• Sexual assault
• Human trafficking
• Kidnapping
• Stalking
• Felonious assault
• Witness tampering
• Obstruction of justice
• Other violent or abusive crimes
